Quest For A 405lb Zercher Squat

This is a video of the last two rounds of my (Mike Davis DPT) workout today (8/23/2009). My goal was to work up to a 405lb Zercher squat. I acheived that goal in my last round. Today’s clusters/circuits/rounds consisted of Zercher squats, kettlebell split snatches, kettlebell pull-ups, and kettlebell reverse lunges. 45 seconds to 1 minutes rest between rounds. Enjoy!

Kettlebell Snatch + Overhead Squat

A snatch is where you’re simply driving the Kettlebell from the ground to above your head in one fluid movement. The key to executing a kettlebell snatch is to keep the kettlebell close to your body. I made the mistake of swinging the kettlebell over my head. When you do this, the bell portion crashes violently down on your forearm. Hurts like a bee sting.

fitmiss.tv Okay, the intro is cheesy, but I am tired of all the Twilight already! Mostly because they are messing up the book… and because I don’t like Edward. Just practicing some snatches (my Achilles heel) and goblet squats. I found a website with a neat Tabata timer, so I had to use it. This was a great way to start the day.
